Conclusion
Lowering the drinking age by three years would discourage binge drinking. Lowering the drinking age would also prevent tragic accidents from occurring, and is completely necessary. Alcohol is still here; it is not going anywhere and is easy for anyone to get their hands on. America only has the most problems with alcohol as a country because the government restricts it to those under twenty-one. Finally, we can save many lives by simply educating the risks of drugs, especially alcohol, but officials continue to act as if it is so difficult. Changing the law should be done and with a little common sense, should be relatively simple.
Fake IDsLet us not forget, the infamous fake ID, many minors get them to break the law, without actually breaking the law. Minors do not want to get caught drinking under the legal age, so fake IDs are often produced. Keeping alcohol away from young adults, ages eighteen to twenty, will not fix anything. Lowering the drinking age is the only realistic solution at this point.
